Old Aged, Experiencing Black Outs, Dizzy Spells And Falling. Need Doctor
trying to find doctor for 83 year old mother.she has been experiencing black outs or dizzy spells and falling.she takes so many different medicines from at least two doctors and behaving odd, like not fully dressing when goes outside.need to have someone check to see what is going on and do not want to continue previous medicines since this may be issue.
Thanks for the query. The best specialist that you need for your mom is a Geriatrician, which is an Internal Medicine doctor that specializes in the elderly. During the first visit, you would do one of the most important things in Geriatric Medicine: bring all the pills and determine which ones are strictly necessary and which perhaps can be stopped. Then, further inquiries could be made about the cause of this inconsistent behaviors; could be medication side effects, but also cerebrovascular disease, dementia, etc.
