Occasional Blood In Phelgm, Swelling In Right Eye. History Of Fall Causing Bloody Nose , Sprained Wrist. Advice

I slipped and fell climbing down a large rock and hit the right side of my face on the rock 3 days ago. I got a bloody nose & a sprained wrist but no loss of consciousness or headaches or anything. Since then I've been ok other than some blood in my phlegm sometimes. This morning I woke up, 3 days later, & my right eye is starting to swell up. Is it normal for the swelling to take this long to begin?

Hello,
I went through all your complaints after the fall 3 days ago. You didn't have loss of consciousness (LOC). The injury may be external to the brain as per the details given by you. There may be a fracture in the maxillary bone or nose which can produce bloody nose immediately after the injury and blood in the phlegm (due to the blood descending down to the throat) and coming out along with phlegm.
The swelling around the eye may be due to accumulation of blood in the hollow space around the eye which has a very large capacity - and this can occur even after 3 days as no treatment were started so far?.
What you need is a CT brain to rule out any brain injury and associated fracture in the maxillary bone and nasal cartilage.
The sprained wrist has to be treated separately after an X-Ray wrist in AP and Lateral view.
According to the results you must take treatment.
With best Wishes.
Once again insisting you for an immediate CT brain
Wishing you for a wonderful recovery

Hello friend,
I understand that you have not undergone any investigation following the injury by fall. That was a mistake. It is not compulsory that a loss of consciousness or headache has to follow to make the injury serious. All depends on the site and the type of injury.
Now, since you have started showing a swelling of your right eye, we have to conclude that there is some amount of bleeding or some inflammatory changes happening behind or around the right eye. Swelling itself is not normal. Then there is no meaning in asking - 'Is it normal for the swelling to take this long to begin?' After three days also swelling of your eye is not normal.
My advise is to undergo thorough investigations including CT scan to rule out internal bleeding, any space occupying lesion within the skull etc without wasting any time.
If there are no serious lesions that necessitates an immediate surgery, my advise is to take Homoeopathic medicines to get free from further bad effects of injury on your face. In Homoeopathy, there are very good remedies like Arnica, Bryonia, Euphrasia, Ledum, Staphisagria, Symphytum etc for the injury of the face especially of the eye. An expert Homoeopathic physician can select the most suitable remedy for your condition.
So, my advise is to get all investigations done and approach a Homoeopathic physician for medicinal treatment at the earliest.
With best wishes,
