Numbing Nerve Pain In Hands And Fingers, Pain Between The Shoulder Blades. Spinal X-ray Showing Minimal Scoliosis. Treatment?

I get numbing nerve pain in hands and fingers: thumb, index and middle fingers on either side. Pain seems to be triggered when performing any activity using upper shoulders and arms (riding bycylce, typing on a keyboard, lying on my side) where tingling numb sensation will start and end up with severe burning pain.
Also have some thoraic pain between shoulder blades. Jan 2012 had cervical spine x-ray: minimal scoliosis MAR and thoraic x-ray: mild to moderate degenerative changes MAR. Also have some artheritis in lower bank. Age 59, female and have been on HRT (estrogen) since age 30 due to complete hysterectomy (endometriosis). Age 40 became hypo-throid and currently have adequate treatment with T3 & T4 replacement hormones (synthroid & cytomel)

Neurologist 's  Response
Hi,

Thank you for posting your query.

Based on your symptoms, we need to exclude a diagnosis of carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS). where the median nerve (of hand) is compressed at the level of wrist. The diagnosis can be confirmed by nerve conduction studies. Treatment would consist of gabapentin capsules. In some cases, a minor surgery may be required.

Please get back if you require any additional information.

Best wishes,
