Noticed A Itchy Bump On Top Side Of The Butt Crack

I break out with itchy bumps along the top and side of my bum crack. When I itch, it gets worse, spreads a little, hardens up, goes away but leaves a scar. Happens every so often and for about the last 5 years. I m female, 56, past menopause. Don t sweat and shower everyday. Thank you!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to a yeast infection. I suggest to use an anti-fungal cream for local application such as Clotrimazole cream. I also suggest to use an anti-fungal medication such as Fluconazole 150 mg once. I recommend to maintain a good hygiene and use cotton loose underwear.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
