Not Taking Food Properly, Vomiting, Kind Of Loose Motion, Swollen Stomach. Prescribed Ondansetron. Correct Dosage And Reason ?

My kid is not taking food properly for past 3 days and had vomitting and a kind of loose motion and there is a stomach swelling. Doctor asked us to take LFT, urine and motion tests and prescribed ondansetron oral solution ip and ors solution . Could you please let me know the correct dosage and reason why these were prescribed

Correct dose of ondansetron is 0.13 to 0.26mg/kg per day.

Ondansetron is an antiemetic with minimal side effect, since your kid is having vomiting that's why it was prescribed

ORS is prescribed to keep hydration level well

LFT are prescribed because he may be suspecting acute viral hepatitis as the symptoms your kid is having are also seen as prodromal symptoms in acute viral hepatitis
