Not official Pericarditis Diagnosis What does it mean ?

Hello, I was in the hospital last week for chest pain, trouble breathing, a very uncomfortable pressure in my heart feeling. After thoroughly examining my heart by EKG's, blood work, and an echo cardio gram, they determined I had Viral Pericarditis. The cardiologist said he did not find inflammation from the standard test but that it doesnt mean some is not there. All my symptoms pointed to it. I also had intense heartburn . THe week before I pulled my Trapezus muscle and ONE of the doctors thought that was a beginning sign of it. Perhaps inflamming me even more. My question is, can I have pericarditis even if they found no inflammation in the pericardium? Does that simply mean its very mild?

some times the inflammation is mild is is unable to be spottted in imaging tecniques. I would advise you to take the medications prescribed regularly and go for a regular follow up. If the symptoms worsen call your emergency number. Do not neglect your symptoms. I hope i have answered your query. Take care

Percarditis is the inflammation of the heart. In certain cases there may not be any inflammation or a mild inflammation.
