Nose Bleeding During Mornings, Generally When Affected With Colds, Dryness And Difficulty Breathing, Solution ?

hello doctor, i m 26 year old woman. my problem is that my nose (left) bleeds in morning time whenever i wash my face. this problem usually happens whenever i m affected from cold . my nose becomes so dry in night and i find it difficult to breath. i consulted a doctor he said that this is due to dryness. can i get some permanent solution.

Cold weather dries up your mucosal lining in nose. And once you pick your nose or wash your face, the dry mucosa tears and causes bleeding. This called as Epistaxis. There are lot of causes for Epistaxis. But most commonly is because of dryness of nose. It can also happen whenever you get cold, nasal allergy etc. In this case, it is self limiting and nothing to do. A simple head tilt upwards or nasal compression can arrest the bleeding.

A Simple blood test to look for your counts including your bleeding & clotting profile will rule out most of the other causes.

Having food rich in Vit.C, Vit.A (like citrus fruits, carrot, green leafy vegetables etc) will help improve the health of your mucosal lining & prevent further episodes.
