Newborn On Flicloxacillin For Skin Infection. Is This Medication Safe?

Hi my 3 weeks old baby is on flucloxacillin 125mg/5ml for skin infection.Doctor prescribed to take it 4 Times a day 4ml each time.However I have read the leflet and decided to give my little one 2.5ml as described in leflet for babies yonger then 2 years old.Have I done the right think ,aspecial as I'm alergic on peniciline myself.It there is any risk for baby?

You have done the right thing. It would have been better to give a medicine like ampicillin and consider the next generation antibiotic if there was no response.
