Nerve Pain. Mri Of Brain, Brachial Plexus, Emg, Labs, X-rays Are Normal. Epidural Injection Is Correct?

I am currently suffering from nerve pain and my new primary treating doctor wants to treat me with elavil and my current Neurologist wants to treat me with cymbalta and gabapentin. It seems as if we still do not have a diagnosis in the last four months. I've been through multiple tests...mri of the brain w/ normal results, mri of brachial plexus w/ normal results, emg w/ normal results , labs w/ normal results and several xrays all normal results. I've mentioned that the original treating md rx'd elivil and it worked for the one moment i previously took it. The bad thing is that it ended up being a bad coctail w/ the other meds ( celexa & flexeril), heart palpitation and hallucinations. Both my doctors want to give me an epidural injection, but I'm reluctant to as I've had one w/ my last pregnancy 15yrs ago and still have lower back pain. The Neurologist says he can use the injection as diagnostic, but the PMT did not mention any of this. I've signed my FMLA which only gives me 12wks unpaid leave in a 12month period. Unfortunately, my husband was let go and i am the only wage earner at this time. In the last 4months I've been waiting for a miracle for the pain to go away and at this time w/ all the tests ...we know what it's not. The original PMT thought it has to be in my neck...cervical radiculopathy. The mri of the cspine indicates issues from c4-c7. I'm having little hope considering going back to work w/ the pain. I've only been on the cymbalta for a few hours. Sad enough the pain has not gone. What else am i to do since the deadline to keep my job is nearing ...two wks?

HI
Thank for asking to HCM
You do not have any choice, looking to your history given here, it indicates that you really need to consult some psychiatric, because your all the investigative reports are normal, so the only hope remained is some psychological problem, before going to some invasive therapy better to see the psychiatric, take care and have nice day.
