Negative Rh Blood Group, Pregnant. What Are The Complications Involved And Its Remedy?

My wife is 3 weeks pregnant with our first child. I am O positive and she is O negative.Both of us have been regular blood donors with no complications in eithr of us when donating blood. This is the first time my wife is falling pregants.I am extremely worried about the Rh negative situation described on the web. is there any I should do - anything we can do?

Hi,

Congratulations that your wife is pregnant. As for the current pregnancy is concerned, nothing needs to be done. After the baby is born, please check the blood group of the baby. If it is positive, then the mother has to be given anti-D immunoglobulin, if it is negative blood group nothing needs to be done.
