Need Treatment For Cough And Pain While Breathing

Since last October I have had a small cough and sinus issues - last month went to my doctor - said it might be allergies - bought Zyrtec and a prescribed nasal spray. 3 weeks later, a deep raspy cough and pain when breathing. Hard to complete a sentence w/o having to stop and take some shallow breaths. Was prescribed Zpack and Methylprednisolone - this is day 3 of taking that. X-ray today was clear. Would a breathing treatment help? And any ideas on WHY

Pulmonologist 's  Response
Thanks for your question on HCM.
I can understand your situation and problem.
In my opinion you should consult pulmonologist and get done
1. Clinical examination of respiratory system.
2. PFT (pulmonary function test)
To rule out bronchitis.
You may require inhaled bronchodilators too.
Inhaled treatment is gold standard for bronchitis.
And you have not improved with antibiotics and oral steroids , so possibility of bronchitis is high.
So consult pulmonologist and first diagnose yourself and than start appropriate treatment.
