Need Treatment Advice On TSH Level Treatment.

my daughters' TSH is 2.93. she is 17 and gained 25 lbs in a matter of 4 months. She eats a low fat diet and works out 2x a day. Her TSH was 1.70 last year.She cant lose weight on a 1200 calorie diet.The thyroid levels changed in years and now the normal levels are .50-3.0. She is close to out of range

Good day.
Hypothyroidism is not the ony reason behind weight gain. In fact due to hypothyroidism, one gain only around 3-4 kilos. If you think your daughter's weight gain is out f proportion to her exercise/diet, then you may meet an endocrinologist to discuss about other horonal disorders. There are lot of hormonal disorders which can make one to gain weight.
The given thyroid function test is normal. TSH is a hormone secreted by pituitary and values can change depending on time of day etc. Both values of your daughter's TSH are in normal limits
