Need Remedy For Menopause Symptoms

Hi my name is Julie, i am 52 years old and i have symtoms of menopause, anxiety, fatigue, mood swings, night and day sweats etc. what i feel so unbearable is the hot flashes and sweating which happens very often all night. is that natural?? the problem is i get irritated and get a hard time getting enough sleep and as a result i feel exhausted during the day.. my gynaecologist recommended that i take dietary supplements.. with 16 vitamins.. is this going to help me and how long is it going to be before i can feel some relief from those symptoms . also how long does this phase last.. some doctors say 3 years before menopause and 3 yrs after.. others say that it can last much longer. i would appreciate your advice, as this has changed my life ,sometimes i even feel depression. thanking you in advance. julie

Hi,

Menopause is a natural process in middle age of ladies. Here the menstrual hormones are gradually withdrawn from body, causing the symptoms. So with the hormonal changes, one must try to change her life style to match changing hormonal effects. Mood swings, excessive sweats and hot flushes are the things she has to manage by changes in her life style like drinking more liquids, avoiding exposure to heat or sun (try to finish her kitchen work in pleasant morning hours).

Exercises, daily walks, controlled diet to avoid weight gain are the things that help in good digestion, improving bony health and be away from diabetes, high BP, and heart problems. Meditation helps for mood changes, gives a positive attitude, vigor for old age. To be busy in hobbies & friends company or social work also help in psychological adjustment in new life. The problems not resolving with these efforts can be managed with getting HRT (Hormone Replacement Therapy) advised by a gynecologist.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
