Need Medicines For Transverse Myelitis Chronic Pain.
what medications work well for severe transverse myelitis chronic pain? I currently take gabapentin, naproxen, and oxycodone. I feel I may need to investigate new medications because my pain is unbearable.my doctor is a family practitioner and not well versed in such a rare condition:.
You currently are on a good pain regimen. For neuropathic pain, which you most likely experience, gabapentin is the treatment of choice. Gabapentin can be increased to a maximum dosage of 3600mg if your kidneys are healthy. the dose can be increased every 3 days by approx 200mg. Go up slowly, because it can make you very dizzy if you go to fast. inform your doctor and ask whether he would like to see you during that time. If gabapentin on max. dosage does not work, ask your doctor to prescribe an alternative (like pregabalin).
