Need Medicine For Tonsillitis.

Recently had tonsillitis my doctor also said that i may have had a tonsil abscess....i have taken 4 IV treatments plus antiobotics by mouth...it now hurts when i turn my head and my throat still seems sore...should i go back to my doctor for another check-up

Thanks for your query. I have gone through your query.
The peritonsillar abscess can be treated by a course of antibiotics preferably amoxicillin and metronidazole combination(if you are not allergic). Do warm saline gargling. Better to start the antibiotics immediately, otherwise the infection will spread to involve the adjacent tissues. If the infection does not come down, then consult an ENT surgeon and get it evaluated.
