Need Medication For High BP

My husband is 42. He has had high blood pressure for over 15 years. He takes medicine to control it, but it often fluctuates from very high to very low quickly with weakness. Right now it went from 145/108, then within minutes it was 115/47. The doctors don t seem concerned enough to care.Should we be concerned?

Dear Ma'm
Thanks for writing to HCM.
The fluctuation in BP are physiologically alterations in level of mental or physical stress. Any neurological affliction, alcohol use, pheochromocytoma are other theoretical possibilities. I would like you to concentrate on the local conditions first. blood pressure taken after exercise, a walk, after tea/coffee/smoking, during pain or psychological stress, during any kind of hunger or anxiety will be higher than normal. Do get your instrument checked. If still there are large fluctuations , do see your internist.
Sincerely
Sukhvinder
