Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Dear Sir,
Fracture of 5th metatarsal not healing for 6 months would definitely classify as a non union but the important thing to note here is wether you are having any symptoms. If you still have pain then I believe you will require a surgery , open reduction and fixation of the bone. An air cast is as good as a plaster of paris cast. I guess a second opinion by another orthopaedic surgeon will help. Hope this has helped you.
