Need Medication For Cystitis

Hi, I used to get cystitis badly around the time of my period. I was always on microgynon but told to stop taking it 2 years ago due to migraines but I ve been back on it 2 months and I m having my second bad bout of cystitis. I only realised this morning that I haven t had cystitis in 2 years and now I ve had it twice, both 4 days into my new pill pack. Should I stop taking it?

Hello!

Thank you for your question on HCM! I understand your concern.

I would recommend you to avoid oral contraceptives. They can trigger migraine attacks and also have been associated to a high risk of stroke in migraine sufferers.

I would recommend you to consult with your gynecologist , have an abdominal ultrasound, urine analysis and try to find the proper treatment.

Hope to have been helpful!

Greetings! Dr. Aida
