Need Help With Understanding Cervical Spine MRI

Hi I had a cervical spine MRI w/ & w/o contrast...VERY CONFUSED? Abnormalities @ C4-5 -left unconvertebral spur. Mild left neural foraminal & left lateral recess stenosis. Same @ the C5-6 & C6-7. Signal intensity is hyper on both T1 & T2. After contrast was injected, enhancement of C5-6 which appears left-sided mix of modic type 1 & 3 degenerative marrow signal. This is associated w/ left sided uncovertebral spurring @ the adjacent disc levels. WHAT IN GODS NAME DOES THAT ALL MEAN??? SOUNDS SCARY??? PLEASE HELP!!!! THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello and welcome to HCM,
The interpretation of MRI spine is as follows:
Abnormality is detected in the cervical spine or the spine in the neck region.
The cervical spine shows a spur. A spur is a bony outgrowth arising from the bone.
Besides the spur, there is narrowing of the cervical narrowing.
The spur and narrowing can cause compression of the spine and thus cause neurological symptoms.
Consult your orthopedician with the report for further management.

Thanks and take care
