Need Advice On Treatment With Respect To Result Of MRI Of Brain With MRS

Hello Doctor

I wanted to views of my Dad's "MRI of brain with MRS". The findings are as below:

Celebral hemispheres are showing multiple small chronic ischaemic foci at bilateral frontal &

parietal subcortical sas well as deep white matter regions producing no mass effect. Note also

a well defined ovoid cyst (measuring about 4.0 cm X 2.1 cm X 3.0 cm having signal pattern

corresponding to that of CSF) at right parieto occipital parasagittal white matter producing no

perifocal oedema but there is mild compression on right occipital horn.

Is it possible to guide us what can be next step and also which kind specialist we should consult now.

Thanks & regards

Hello!

My name is Dr. Aida and I am glad to attend you on Healthcaremagic!

I reviewed carefully your father's MRI report and would explain that it indicates:

1- small vessel disease, which is related to uncontrolled hypertension, or other cardiovascular risk factors (diabetes, dyslipidemia, smoking, alcohol,), etc. For this reason, it is necessary taking daily aspirin 80mg (if no contraindications) and follow a healthy lifestyle, be active, control better high blood pressure and dyslipidemia, etc.

2- a subarachnoidal cyst, which should be evaluated better. For this reason, I recommend performing a brain MRI with gadolinium enhancement and consulting with a neurosurgeon.

Hope you will find this answer helpful!
Best wishes, Dr. Aida
