Hi,Jane thanks for query.Every individual is different, and depend upon his or her structure some bones may be prominent, some are not.As long as you do not have any problem with this there is no reason for concern. It is just like one having long fingers and one is not having it.Do not worry, enjoy the life.
wishing you good health.
3 days ago noticed marble-size lump to left of sternum. I thought it might be sabaceous cyst or boil, however now it is the size of golf ball. It isn t red or infected looking just hard mass. I saw Dr. today he tried to drain it to see if it was an abscess. There was no pus or signs of infection present. The Dr. also inserted a q-tip about an inch into the incision and also tried to aspirate any fluid. To our surprise, there was no pus and only serosanguinous fluid present. Minimal drainage. The Dr. placed me on Keflex and said if it isn t better in 2 days to notify him and he will refer me to a surgeon. Any thoughts as to what this might be. Of course I have been researching articles on the web, and now I am scared that it could be cancer. Although, I though most cancers don t grow that big in 3 days. Any suggestions on what I should do? I do have history of lipomas and fibrous tumors. I do smoke about 1/2 pk per day. I do not take any medication on regular basis. I am 40, 5 8 and weigh 175 lbs.
just like when you crack your knuckles or back or whatever.Been going on for a couple of days. Leaned back in a chair and felt a crack or pop in my sternum. It felt good and I ve felt the need to do it again whenever I feel a bit of tightness in my sternum. Now I can just do it by spreading arms and expanding the chest cavity. Is this normal? I lift weight 4 day a week. upper body on Mondays and Wednesdays
Is it normal to feel a pulse below my sternum - I ve been experiencing gastroenteritis for the past 72 hours and I ve noticed that it comes and goes. I m extremely fit and was wondering if it is just the fact that I ve lot a bit of weight during the course of the sickness...
I have a lump about the size of a pea on my sternum between my breast. I noticed it in Oct but it has grown some in the last few weeks. It is tender, but I think a lot of the tenderness is because I am constantly messing with it. It is hard (but not bone hard) and it does not move. It feels like it is attached to my sternum. It did develop kinda like a pimple over the lump that had white liquid (smelly) drain from it. I have an appt with my doctor next week, but really concerned.
I have a persistent stomachache. I also have fatigue after I eat and have to lay down for 15 minutes and sleep. I have just survived pancreatic cancer. I take TUMS but it does not help. I am on no medication. I have high A1c at6.5 but am watch...

Hi, I injured myself during yoga today. I felt a pop in the center of my chest , on both sides of my sternum . I can breathe fine. It is painful to bend over or raise my arms. The instructor thought that I probably pulled muscles that connect to...
Due to the sharp stabbing pains I have in my outer perimeter of my rib-cage right next to my sternum and breastbone on my right side, I feel it's possible that I may have costochondritis.
The pain is only sharp at that location and it is intermittent. It is aggravated by breathing deeply and when it comes on, it feels like the cartilage is moving and twinges due to the movement of my lungs.
However, I also feel dull aches at the back of my ribs in the right side mid-back region….and feel malaise as well.
I only have access to a skilled pharmacist right now, as I'm not anywhere near a doctor at this time. However, I was wondering if there is any antibiotics I could take to quell the symptoms, as I'm wondering if this is a fungal/bacterial infection where antibiotics could possibly help?
Hello! I recently began to belly dance and working on shimmies I noticed something odd. There is a grinding sound in my sternum, it almost sounds as though the cartilage is rubbing against something else. When this occurs I get a little breathless and heart starts beating very quickly, and at times I'll get a bit of pain just below the sternum, near the the xiphoid. At times my sternum will pop, but it happens rather rarely. I don't have a lot of money nor the best of insurance, so I really can't afford to go to a doctor at the moment. I'm mainly wondering what it could be and how serious it may be.
I have upper abdomen pain and through the sternum. I cannot lie on my left side, but I can lie some what comfortably on my right. It is hard to breath sitting up right and if I raise my breasts I can breath a little easier but it hurts to do even that. The pain in the abdomen is bilateral. I did do some heavy pulling and lifting this weekend. I also have a temp of 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
