My wrists hurt all day but I take Calcium supplements and I drink 3-4 liters of water everyday. What to do ?
My joints in both wrists hurt like hell. I am a mom to a 5 week old baby. I am 29, turning 30y/o soon. My joints in my wrists hurt all day, especially when I wake up either from a nap or a longer rest. It hurts so bad, it feels like my hands are to fall off any second. I am too afraid to hold my baby because I feel that I might drop her coz my hands are useless. Sometimes, I feel like I do not want to go to sleep just so my wrists do not hurt more. I breastfeed but I take Calcium supplements and I drink 3-4 liters of water everyday. One nurse told me that I just lack potassium. Yes, I have been away from bananas ever since I got pregnant because I did not want to get constipated but I regularly ate oranges- a high in potassium fruit. I really do not know what to do anymore.
Hello and welcome to HealthcareMagic!!
lack of potassium would cause muscle weakness and not joint pain, it does not explain just the wrist joint pain. Get yourself tested for rheumatoid and gout and i doubt even this will come as positive, if it doesnt then it is likely that you have sero negative arthritis. Dont worry, Take care
Hi from HealthcareMagic forum,
It is really sad that you suffer from wrist pain.It is possibly due to rheumatism. You can take medicine rhustox 30 4 tabs 4 times in day for 2-3 days.Of problem is resolved forget the issue and if it is still persistent then you may consult your nearest homeopathic doctor.
Hope this helps you to get well soon,
Hi, Welcome to Healthcare Magic Forum.
May be you are having Carpal Tunnel Syndrome or De Quervain's tenosynovitis . Kindly get yourself evaluated further by a Orthopedist as soon as possible. In the meantime if you have severe pain, take Tab. Ibuprofen 400mg thrice daily and apply heat pads. Take Care.
Hello and welcome to HealthcareMagic!
Since you have been on regular calcium supplements, it is unlikely that calcium or other mineral deficiency could be a cause for your wrist pains. When di your pain start? Do you have pain or discomfort in any other joint? IS the pain relieved by taking medication? I advise you to get yourself examined by a consultant to rule out arthritis.
Best wishes and regards.
