My urine taste sugary, is it a sign of diabetes ?

my urine taste sugary it that a sign of diabetes i have gone for a text and it is not diabetes ( my FBS is 109) advice me on what to do. regards, abu.

sugary or a fruity odour is due to ketosis a sign in starvation, diabetes etc. It need not always mean diabetes. Also can be seen in some errors of metabolism. I would advise you to get your urine tested to rule out any abnormality. And since your fbs is in normal limit i would advise you to get a further work up of a glucose challenge test which will confirm the diagnosis. I would advise you to consult a physician and get a complete work up, i hope i have answered your query. Take care

Hello.Welcome to HCM forum.Your FBS level of 109 is on the uppermost border of normal range but still doesn't rule out diabetes.Get your PP sugar along with urine routine examination and HBA1c done to rule out diabetes.Thanks and good luck.
