My throat hurts when I swallow only on one side.

My throat hurts when I swallow only on one side. It has been 10 days or more. At first I thought it was a sore throat, but I have no other symptoms. Some days hurts more than others but doesn't seem to go away. Only feel pain when I swallow.

I had thyroid nodes biopsied about a year and a half ago on the same side..all negative.

Hi I went to the w.e on the 26th last month for a severe sore throat . There s little bumps all back in my throat and white patches . Way back in my throat where I can t see feels swollen hurts to swollow on the left side. They tested for strep and mono both negative. Gave me zithromax antibiotics and just said it should clear up. It got better but the bumps and white patches never went away and now its hurting in the back and only left side when I swallow. Any idea what it could be?

Hello, I started having pain in my throat 4 days ago, but only on the right side, and it hurts my right ear as well when I swallow. Swallowing have been very difficult since. The next day I went to see a doctor and have been told that he doesn t know what it is because its still in a really early state. I have been prescribed 500mg amoxicillin. Started taking the medication and the following day I noticed my uvula has started swelling up with clear liquid. The next day it has gotten a bit worse, I went back to see the doctor, and he changed my medication to predniSONE10mg and Amoxicillin-pot Clavulanate 875-125mg. I ve been on these new meds for the second day and see little to no results. Just now I had a very nasty, like rotten-egg taste in my throat. I tried gargling some water and it didn t get the taste away. Tried other things and accidentally activated my gag reflexes and spit out blood, along with that nasty taste. Now every time I spit there is some blood, should I be worried? I have another appointment scheduled with my doctor in about 10 hours.

Hello! I have a concern about my throat. About 2 months ago it began to feel like I was developing strep throat, but the photo s I had looked up just didn t fit the bill. I was cleared for strep by my doctor and for any other bacterial infection. My doctor had told me it s probably something viral and it should go away on its own. Problem is, that was a month and a half ago. It has gotten worse and looking actually disturbing to me. It s veiny, yellowish and there appears to be red sores near where my tonsils should be (they were removed when I was a child). Swallowing doesn t hurt and I only feel pain when I breath in sometimes. It bleeds if I m too rough with my tooth brush and that s a bit frightening. On one side there is what looks like a gash that is quite deep and on the other side it s swollen with another gash a bit further back. I know it isn t contagious as well. A few more details: I m 18, female, and a smoker. I would greatly appreciate a response, I m pretty upset. Thanks in advanced!
