How Can Severe Vaginal Bleeding After Taking Gabapentin Be Managed?

My neurologist put me on Gabapentine 300 mill for nerve damage in my arm. I started them on Jan 23rd. A week later my doctor told me to Increase the dosage very 3 days. On Feb 6th I was up to 2pills 3 times a day. Feb 7th I started bleeding very heavily every time I peed. I will be 66 next month. I had a hysterectomy in 1987. I stopped taking the pills right away. The bleeding has not stopped. I have mild cramps.

Hello,

Excessive bleeding is not related to gabapentin. As a first line management, you can take drugs like Tranexamic acid to control bleeding.

If bleeding persists, better to consult a gynaecologist and get evaluated to rule out possibilities like fibroid uterus.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
