My mother just had an appendectomy last night around 930pm.

My mother just had an appendectomy last night around 930pm. We have a planned trip to drive from California to Idaho, leaving Monday morning. The drive is going to be roughly a 10 hour drive. Is it safe for her to travel with frequent stops to walk and stretch her legs?

Beyond Irritated/Frustrated: I am a 37y old female, mother of 3...I started getting sick about a month an a half before I took myself to the hospital for being in so much pain that I had to have an Appendectomy on Nov., 24. It didnt burst & it was done laproscopy. Discharged on the 25th...I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO SLEEP MORE THAN 3-4hrs a night...I told the surgeon that I still wasn t feeling well...Had to go back to the ER, Monday the 26th & they gave me different pain meds...Almost 2wks after my surgery I was still in pain, nausea, vomiting (even today), I have lost 30lbs & my stools are not right...I can t sleep becuz of my left side incision & tha side of my back hurts... I called the surgeon because my stool is now BLACK! I have an appetite but every time I eat I can only take a few bites then I start getting nausea, sweating & majority of the time will throw blood pressure is Low for some reason. They have not put me on any medications at this time...I am just taking over the counter meds which now aren t working...I am tired of being poked, asked to take all these diff meds...I am very emotional today because I am at he end of my rope... Any info you may have would be very much appreciated... Thx You, Jen

My 16 yr old son had an emergency appendectomy 2 weeks ago and last night had vomiting, diarrhoea and severe abdominal pains and he was admitted to hospital again . A surgeon has said he may have sticky bowels , a common after effect of an appendectomy, what does he mean and could this be a recurrent problem? My 40 year old son had a laprascopic appendectomy 14 days ago. He has been having a terrible time having a bowel movement, even though he takes stool softner. He also says that when he urinates, the urine comes to the end of his penis and it he had to push hard to force it out. When the urine comes out it burns. I have had him to the emergecy room. They say he has a hematoma across his abdoman but see no leakage. The ER doctor gave him pyrithim for the kidneys but it isn t working. The surgeon is out of town. My son seems to be in so much pain, he is hyper! He doesn t lay down during the day and is up and down all night. He moans in pain when he goes to the bathroom. Do you have any idea what is going on? He is 5 11 and weighs 190 pounds. He has never had any medical problems before and does not drink alcohol.
