What Causes Pain Behind The Neck?

My mother has had a triple a repair about 6 years ago...she also has had a pacemaker put in about 4 months ago and has had to have the leads repaired twice since then. Most recently 2 weeks ago. She is complaining about pain from the back of her neck (she does suffer from arthritis) she will be 87 in about 2 weeks. The pain she has described S not feeling like her bones and she says it essentially in her entire trunk area. Her BP was a bit high earlier and last heart rate was 72. She just felt a pain that sort of radiated to her throat from the back of her neck.

Hello and Welcome to Ask a Doctor service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You have not mentioned what type of repair or what kind of repair she had gone through, anyway if the pain is most concern then it can be best managed with NSAID (Nonsteroid anti-inflammatory drug) but it has to be taken in severe pain condition because underlying cause of pain matters the great and it has to be managed.

Hope I have answered your query, Let me know for further help.
