Should Morphine Be Continued Instead Of Switching To Opana?

My insurance company wants me to try Opana, in place of my generic morphene capsules. I am reluctant as I ve had so many unpleasant side effects in the past from hydromorphone, hydrocodone, etc. I m allergic to a number of things. Wouldn t it be safer to stay with what I m used to?

Hello,

If you are getting good results with generic Morphine, no need to switch to other analgesics. You can safely continue Morphine.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
