My husband has had stomach problems since he was about 18 years old. He has has endoscopy (twice in fact), colonoscopy, ultra sounds, blood tests, and xrays. However, he has never been asked for a stool sample. That seems odd considering all the gastro digestive symptoms. He is very discouraged by the run around and learning nothing. His perception is that these people think it is all in his head. The ball has been dropped again and again as a result. He has repeatedly gone away without answers and without help. When it gets too bad he has to start all over again with these people. We need definitive answers, not a repeat of testing that showed nothing. Also I took him gluten free, since he had every symptom of celiac disease. It seems to be helpful but is not the entire issue. Now he has heart issues too and is on Brilenta, a blood thinner, for stints in his heart. We just want to get closer to answers without going back to square one EVERY single time. What kind of testing can give us answers? We have literally had technicians and other medical professionals tell us the tests done being would not show answers we were looking for. So why do they order them? We do not want a pacifier, but answers.
