Ignore the above comment. Sounds like an anxiety attack, or just too much caffeine given that you are only 17. However, if your pulse is fast, you feel like you are going to faint, getting short of breath (like you say you are experiencing), a trip to the doctor or ER might not be a bad idea. You could have diabetes, hypoglycemia ,SVT, atrial fibrillation (doubtful) or maybe even an allergic reaction to something you came in contact with. Without knowing a lot of other info (vitals, medical history, family history, recent exposures, glucose check....) we cannot say for sure. I'd get checked out really soon (tonight!) to be safe.

My heart flutters a lot and 4 times already I have actually felt it quiver, it felt like a very very fast spasm that is not actually a beat but a fast shaking. When I have felt the quiver, my face feels like it is hot and red, and I lose a breath and I can t breathe in deep until my heart jumps back into rythm. This heart problem started when I was pregnant with my first child. About the sixth month or so. It started as beating really fast for no particular reason, and I would get so out of breath. It was very similar to having tachycardia . After I delivered, over the next 5 years or so I have felt changes in the condition. After the fast beating and breathing, I started to feel like 1 off beat that I could actually feel. I felt it coming on and I would get behind on a breath, my chest would feel like it flooded with a warm liquid and then the off beat. After some time it progressed to 2 off beats then 3. And now I feel flutters like a fish out of water. Occasionally I have felt the quivers and they are very scary. I have only experienced the quivers like 3 or 4 times as I stated earlier. I do notice that I have the flutters when I drink more caffiene than usual and have more stress. Sometimes I can actually think of them and they happen. My OBGYN told me when I delivered the baby that they would disappear but that was not the case, It is actually gotten worse as you can read from my post. Please tell me what is wrong with my heart.

Hi, i am really searching for an answer on heart palpitations. I am a healthy 40 year old male, i exercise and do crossfit and run. But for some odd reason i can be just relaxing and without warning i get this upper stomach squeeze that takes my breath away and makes me feel like passing out . And when i feel my pulse i can feel it skip beats or a long hesitation before the next beat, that s when i get that stomach feeing that takes my breath away. I feel real tired aferwards like a did a days work. i have seen a heart doctor, and its hard to do a heart monitor holter, since it might not happen for a month till all of a sudden. but it is really a scarey feeling. Once it was so bad that i thought my heart isn t going to start beating again, there was such a long pause, I thought i was done for. Breathing in cold air can activate it like crazy. Been in the ER for it but by that time all looks normal on the monitor since i won t be having the symptoms anymore. Answers or ideas what could be causing it? I can t drink pop because that will trigger it to, but it can happen randomly. When i exercise and have my heart rate up it doesn t happen

Acouple days ago I was sitting at a friends house and was sitting at his kitchen table. At first I could feel my heart beat begin to rise but I didn t think anything of it. I thought that it was like that from the euphoria I was experiencing acouple minutes before. Anyways, my heart started to be faster and faster. It was almost as if it went from a rate of 90 BPM to about 200 BPM in a matter of 2 seconds. At the moment I started freaking out cause I didn t know what was going on (now keep in mind that I am sitting at my friends kitchen table still.) Then shortly after (about 2 minutes had passed and it was still beating fast) I started to lose my breathe and I could barely breathe. My vision started to get somewhat blurred/ started to go black and I began to get lightheaded like I was going to pass out. Luckily, It only lasted acouple minutes and I didn t pass out, but it sure scared me. I asked one of my friends for help but they didn t do anything, they just watched. Hospital? But see the thing is shortly after my arms and hands felt like they went to sleep. They were tingly like they had just gotten woke up from when your arm or some part of your body goes to sleep. It felt like there were pins and needles running through my arms and hands. Also, I was laughing and having fun acouple minutes prior to the events. Thats why I dont think it could be a panic attack. Wouldn t you have to be scared or panicing in some sort of way for that to happen?
