Wow, you have a lot on your plate right now! The heart flutters is called palpitations. The term refers to the ability to feel you heart beating fast or irregularly. It is common for many people and the causes vary. Your other symptoms sound like they are anxiety related. Someone else mentioned panic attacks which are definitely a possibility. As for your symptoms occurring at night, it may also be happening during the day but you are unaware of it. When we sit down and try to relax, we become more aware of our surroundings and what is going on with our bodies. I strongly recommend seeing your family doctor. He can better evaluate you as an individual and help determine the best treatment. A low dose anti-depressant for a few months may do you some good. You may say that you don't feel depressed, but there are many uses for these drugs. Best of Luck

Can anybody advice me the reason for heart palpitation, especially in the night just before going to bed or in sleep. I checked with my Dr who checked ECG Cholestrol etc and said no problem and gave some vitamin tablets, then it decreased, after one week again started. Anybody have similar experiences?

I have been feeling a fluttery feeling on and off directly in the region of my heart for the last few weeks. No pain, no breathing problems or anything else. About 3 weeks ago I saw a Naturalpath doctor and she put me on Nature-Throid 1/2 grain daily based on blood test results and symptoms. I have felt quite a bit better except this started. This is something on and off I have felt before but now it seems daily. Any relation?

hello. i am a 24 yr old female. i have asthma. For the past 6 years i experiance bouts of extreme fatigue, swollen chin and auxillary nodes, diarrhea, muscle pain and weakness, small headaches, gerd, and my skin is always tender to the touch to the point were hugs are painful and also something as small as snapping my fingers hurts. It also seem sthat my tolerance for pain has greatly diminished. Also, i have no to low sex drive and my mentral cycles have always been irregular, ocurring from 2-3 months, where now i have gone 6 months without one, occuring. I have had a million blood tests at the doctors and he can never seem to find anything physically wrong with me other than insulin resistance. I was reading about cfs/ fibro and wondering if this sounds like what it could be. Medical history: Asthma 20 yrs.(i have been intubated twice due to asthma attacks) Insulin Resistance. I had a diagnosis of ebv in 2004. I currently take albuterol inhaler and prednisone on and off as needed for about a weeks time for the past 15 yrs.

I m military and in basic and AIT (both located in GA) I developed a odd sounding chronic cough. I went through numerous tests to include XRAY, Methacholine challenge, GERD, Allergy and others I can t recall. I also have rhinitis which I m told by the allergist is not due to any allergy (I had a full skin test). It mostly subsided when I was stationed in Ft Lewis, WA while I was taking flonase and zyrtec. I ve since been stationed at Hunter AAF, GA and now the cough is back in full force and my rhinitis is no longer controlled by flonase. An allergist back at fort gordon told me it was cough variant asthma( after successfully reducing the symptoms with prednisone and then advair) but the pulmonologist at both fort gordon and fort lewis insist that I don t have asthma. While my symptoms are present I have a shortness of breath during running and similar exercises but to a lesser extent in washington. I had no issues during my deployment to Iraq (my 2 mile run times dropped four minutes with no changes in behavior) I was 18 when in Basic and AIT and now am 22 soon to be 23. Any ideas?
