My grandson is taking a type of swimming lesson called

My grandson is taking a type of swimming lesson called ISR (Infant Self Rescue). He is 10 months old. The ISR technique is to teach the child, if it was to fall into a swimming pool, to float on its back until rescued. During the 10 minute session with the instructor, my grandson is extremely terrified, and ends up taking in a good bit of the pool water. After the session, he will "burp up" a good bit of the water. The pool is a salt water pool. I am concerned about him ingesting much salt water. These lessons are 5 days a week, and he has completed 2 weeks and 3 days. Is there a concern with him ingesting this much salt water? Thanks

My four year old grandson has a cold and cough. My daughter was going to take him to swim lessons this evening. I told her I didn t think he should go as he would be coming out with a wet head in the cold air, which might make him worse. What is your opinion?

My 16 year old daughter is taking lifeguard lessons. She has a heart murmur and has chest pain when she has to do the long distance swim. I told her to just slow down but she is pressured from girls who are on swim teams and think nothing of swimming circles around her. She is embarassed and pushes herself faster than she wants to go and then the pain forces her to stop. Suggestions?

We were just told my 5 year-old grandson has avascular necrosis in the hip, He is awaiting an appointment with a pediatric orthopedist but in the meantime is scheduled to start two weeks of swim lessons in two days. He was also scheduled for soccer camp which we know is out but what about the swim lessons. Will they hurt him?
