How Should Balance Issues And Fatigue Leading To The Inability To Walk Be Treated After Recovering From A Stroke?

My friend had a stroke in June. had no impairments of speech, paralysis or gait issues. she was cleared of everything. at the end of July she started having balance problems and gradually just became fatigued and unable to walk much. she is not currently using a walker and struggles to get around. she does have a Lumbar MRI scheduled soon. thoughts?

Hi,

Inability to walk following a stroke is generally due to weakness or imbalance as a result of direct brain damage due to stroke itself. It's unusual for a person to be absolutely alright following a stroke and later develop walking difficulty as in this case. In my view, we are missing something like a fresh cerebellar clot or spine issue and attributing it the stroke without proper evaluation.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
