My friend has been being drugged by her husband nightly for 8 months. He has been crushing up 100 mgs of Trazodone (Don t know how many pills each time) with unknown amounts of Ambien he has been putting this mixture into a glass of red wine. She noticed the wine was cloudy and was eventually told by her 13 year old stepdaughter that her father was putting white Powder in her glass before pouring the drink. He filled these 2 Rxs at an alternate pharmacy from the one they normally used. He weighs 220lbs she weighs 95lbs. 1) Could this Cocktail Cause death over an extended period of time? 2) Can the ICD9 code for insomnia be used for both prescriptions or would a doctor by law have to use a Separate Code of depression to write for the Trazodone to be taken in conjunction with the ambien? The dosage of ambien was so high that when they did the UA 5 days later it was still very high. Thank You for your help

My son has been diagnosed with being bipolar, and is presently in jail for a repeat effence. It was only clinically diagnosed last year, and I think we all should of done more homework on the disorder, and not leave it all up to him. He is a great person, who is always helping others. But then comes the insomnia and the manic episodes which are not so nice. Is being bipolar having a chemical imbalance in your brain which at one time was treated with lithieum as the drug of choise? Why the change to risperdal, and is it safe? He was doing better with the risperdal, but then became scared when the commercial came out about it and discontinued taking it. Totally bad idea. My nephew 32, Father of 2 small children and beautiful wife shot himself last year in their home. this was after a year from hell as he spiraled out of control. He made threats that he was going to take everyone to heaven with him. Does a overwhelming situation in a persons life have any bearring as to the onset of the over the top manic episodes. Because this was a man who had been the salt of the earth type of guy. but he did refuse any medication in treating the disorder, which left him with alot of nights of insomnia. ??chemical imbalance??med??event??

Hi, I been mentally tortured by my family since childhood. My parents are not educated and ill-behaviored by their families in their times, so they didn t feel the way of nurturing anyone. Since childhood I was punished for the matters that had no worth. I was a bright student and always stood first in my class, but things at home changed me all the way. I never feel that somebody is around me who cares or loves me. I feel always alone. But I compromised all the situations. I think I need to be strong to help my parents to see the world in a different way. But things didn t change anyway. They always treated me like a fool and made me worthless and stupid when somebody came to our home. Even did they not think that what would the future impact of that. I knew all the facts but this thing changed me over the time and I became speechless to everyone. I thought when I will complete my graduation and get a job then things will change. But I found that my silence making me die. It is blocking my success and even general activities. I found myself answer less when somebody teased or deceive me. My upbringings never let me sleep. I am suffering with insomnia and hypertension for more than 8 years. How I am living I don t know, but right now my father is no more so, I have to live for my rest of my family. I don t know what is my future, but I know someday things will change. Please suggest me what are the solutions of my problems?

Does the rocking of a ship increase insomnia in those who have recently had a stroke and exhibit an increased startle reaction? I recently shared a cabin with a stroke victim who claimed she could not sleep all night. What I noticed is that repeatedly in the middle of the night she would suddenly and violently wake up without cause and think I was making noise. She also the week before the trip underwent an invasive procedure endoscopicly to see if she needed a stint placed in her artery. Could she be reacting to that, too? She claimed she slept better once we were in a hotel on land and I got my own cabin. Others in my family report that I am a quiet sleeper, so I believe I am not the cause of her insomnia which has plagued her all her life. A very light sleeper, or is something more serious going on that her doctor needs to know about? Thanks for your answer in advance. Nina Daniel
