My Family Returned From A Trip To Costa Rica A

My family returned from a trip to Costa Rica a few hours ago. Over the past several days, while still there, my 19 year old son developed a severe sore throat, postnasal drip, swollen lymph nodes in his neck, a diffuse, rash which continues to spread, starting on his hands, both dorsal and palmar surfaces, is now on his legs and face. It itches at times, but not consistently. He has severe muscle and joint aches and pain, can hardly move his neck. He now feels as though he has a fever, although he does not (temp. 98.7). I looked up smptoms of Zika, and am confounded by his enlarged lymph nodes and sore throat, which are not described by the CDC. We live in a very small town in Virginia; he has an appointment at teh general doctor's office; however, he feels miserable and feels he needs to go to teh ER...I disagree. Any advise or thoughts about other possible causes? I understand Zika is treated symptomatically, just would like to know what other possibilities should be on our radar, so as not to overlook something potentially more serious.
