Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My daughter had an MRI done when she was 5, 3 years ago and the neurologist said that it was fine. We have recently seen a new Neurologist and she is 7 now, we are trying to have our daughter taken off of her seizure medicine. SO this new doctor had an EEG done on our daughter and said that there were some spikes in her brain waves that would be an indicator of someone who is prone to seizures and she also said that she looked at our daughters MRI from 3 years ago and that our daughters MRI showed that she had a large middle brain ventricle. So now I am freaking out thinking that there is something serious wrong with my daughter. The new Neurologist assured me that there were no masses on her MRI just a large ventricle. I read that some kids/ people are just born with large ventricles and that it is nothing to worry about. She wants a new MRI to have to compare to.
