My Cycle Is Still Going From The Beginning Of March. Is It Possible New Fibroids Have Formed??

In October of 2012, I had a UFE to help with my fibroids. Periods were normal until October of 2013 and it s been hit or miss monthly since then. I started a cycle at the beginning of the March and it s still going. Not heavy but still going. Is it possible new fibroids have formed?? Recent gyno exam revealed a UTI and bacterial infection. I m on meds and now I notice black spots/specks on my pad. What is the cause of that??

Hello,

Since the bleeding is continuous, new fibroids can also appear and the pre-existing ones can also grow in size. Taking antibiotics can also cause minor bleeding. You need a detailed evaluation to find out the cause.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Rakhi Tayal, OBGYN
