My classmates do this thing that they squeeze their carotid

My classmates do this thing that they squeeze their carotid arteries for like 15 seconds and hold their breath at the same time after which they seem to lose their consciousness and become numb for a few seconds. How dangerous is it? Can it damage the brain?

I am 36 years old female and I have been experiencing a squeezing sensation in my chest off and on (I can t tell if it s from the heart or a lung). Recently I have noticed that sometimes I wheeze while talking and I have to stop in the middle of a sentence to catch my breath. I have noticed that my resting heart rate has increased and my blood pressure has dropped. My abdomen has become distended and my hands and feet look swollen or fatter. Is all this related? I have been diagnosed with Hypercholesterolemia and I do have blockage in the Carotid artery but I do not know the percent. Please help!

My carotid artery on my left side feels like it s twitching, or something directly next to it. It even woken me up in my sleep last night. I currently suffer from MS and have for years, but are these two things possibly related? Is there anything to keep it from spasming like this?

I would like to know what are the side effects of an occluded carotid artery. I have a carotid artery that is totally occluded. None of my doctors seem to know what side effects I may experience. However, I feel that is some of the cause for the deterioration of my spine, as well as, the loss of circulation that I feel in my legs. And many times, I feel as if I have no energy, but if I do things like take a walk, I become extremely tired. Is this just a coincidence or a side effect?
