My cholesterol is really high, can I get help from Online doctor regarding this

My cholesterol is really high, and I m surprised that when I went to the doctors regularly when I had insurance, that the doctor never mentioned it. I now know that it is unbelieveably high and that scares me. I had problems back in 03 and even went to the hospital thinking I was having a heart attack. the didn t even check me at the hospital and sent me home with a wrong diagnosis. Having learned about my chlosterol last summer, I am trying to figure out what to do since I don t have any insurace. I know mine is hereditary, but any suggestions on what to do to help bring it down, until I can get insurance. thank you in advance for any help. I just hope there will be nothing majorly wrong when I do get back to the doctors. What is the best number for DHA. I have one with 288 mg. is that one any good ?

See if you can get generic prescriptions for cholesterol drugs. Stop eating eggs, meat and cheese and see if that helps. Eat a lot of high fiber grains and fruits and veggies, see if the diet modification helps you out. It could also be a family trait, if that is true there isn't much you can do except try a low fat diet and meds.

My wife is 55 years old. Fairly good health- not overweight . She has been fighting depression for about ten years since I was injured in an accident that left me permantley disabled. She went to see a Family Medicine doctor two weeks ago because she has been having some chest pain/discomfort and some pain in her jaw as well as fighting the depression. (The pain has happened three or four times in the past two months.) This is the first time in 6 years she has been to the doctor. The Family Med doctor didn t listen to her heart- just prescribed anti-depressants to help with her depression. We do not have any insurance and only have meger SSD income from my injuries, so she has been reluctant to go to the ER. The symptoms came on again about 30 minutes ago along with sweaty hands. I checked her pulse and listened to her heart with a stethoscope- heartrate-80bpm heart does not have abnormal rythym. Her cholesterol panel last week showed HDL/ LDL ratio .28, cholesterol 294, triglycerides 145, and TSH 1.67. What does this sound like is going on?

my friend is male, 58 yrs. Had a heart attack 3 yrs ago and had a bypass. He had a mild heart attack last month no bypass.Today at his check up his cardio. dr. said that he has an 80% blockage in 4 artries not counting the ones bypassed 3yrs ago. These blockages are in places where there is a 75% chance that an operation would kill him, according to the dr. The dr said that my friend is a walking time bomb, gave him 6-8 months and added that stress, strain, physcial exertion could cause it to happen quicker.I know diet and exercise are very important in keeping a healthy heart. Is there ANYTHING my friend can do except wait?

Hi, My father is 63 years old. 2 days back he suffered a chest pain for a long time when he was walking for quite sometimes. He did some chest examinations and after he was shown a cardiologist he told that apart from a blockage in heart there is a small miocadial infarction.
I don't stay with him and i really don't know what is the his health condition and what is the immediate doable for him.
He is fine now. Some medicines are given. I don't understand was it a heart attack because the doctor haven't told like that.
I stay in Bangalore and is in Kolkata. Pls suggest the immediate doable and places where treatments would be good.
