My Baby Is Experiencing Seizures And Spasms After Taking Medicine
My son now aged 3months old was diagnosed of infantile spasm by you when we came to meet you 1 month before in New Jeddah clinic he is taking phenobarbital as prescribed by you but there has been not a single day in which he has been seizure free and since last week there has been constant increase in spasms in clusters and he is feeling lazy and week as you are not in the hospital please guide us any other medicine and inform me when are you resuming your duty in the hospital.

The drugs used for these spells are prednisolone, ACTH and vigabatrine.
Other drugs used are topiramate, lamotrigene, levoteraceteram and zonisamide.
Ketogenic diet helps.
The prognosis depends on the cause.
