My Dad just found out he has a Compression Fracture after falling out of a Hospital Bed after being admitted. He is going to be fitted for a Brace on Friday. He his slightly overweight, will he eventually require surgery or does the Brace usually correct the issue ?

Hello,

Compression fractures usually don't require surgery. The pain usually improves significantly in a matter of days or weeks. Pain management may include analgesic pain medicines, bed rest, back bracing. Physical activity is recommended for recuperation.

Hope my answer was helpful. If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.
