My 3years old son is always vomiting

Hi Doctor online, my queries are: why my 3-year old son is always vomitting after even a little meals, even without tonsillitis and fever. Even just drinking his milk, he will surely vomit.

Since how long he is having vomiting? How many times in a day he vomits?Any color to the vomitus?
Nausea and vomiting are not diseases, but rather are symptoms of many different conditions.Vomiting in children can be due to infections and due to foods that are hard to digest.Vomiting causes dehydration. And any vomiting that lasts more than 24 hrs in children should be brought to the attention of a doctor. It may also help to keep a formal symptom diary, where you record when he vomits, what he was doing (like eating or crying), and what he had last had to eat and drink.Keep in mind that this is a common occurrence in younger children. Some toddlers vomit when having a tantrum or just crying, others when they have too much food in their mouth, and some for no reason at all.He may indeed have a sensitive gag reflex.Another condition that might cause similar symptoms is delayed gastric emptying. You can also go for the opinion of a paediatric Gastroenterologist.

Dr. K.S. Sanju,

Thanks for this valuable reply on my query. Actually this is not the first time it happened to my son. This happened several months ago and all of sudden recurring at an unexpected time. Before, he was hospitalized because of this and their findings are all about tonsillitis, but this time, he had no tonsillitis either fever to have caused this vomitting, as to the color of vomitus and the frequency of vomitting, I still have to ask my wife, because I am working abroad and only in text messaging thru cell phone and internet chatting that I was informed of the condition of my son. Today my wife will take him to a Gastroenterologist for a medical checkup.
