this is a allergic cough, you have to find what could be in daily routine causing it.

This condition is known as Post nasal drip or Upper Airway Caugh Syndrome(UACS)
It happens when excessive mucous accumulate in throat. It is caused by sinusitis allergies other causes are laringo pharingial acid reflux or disorder of swallowing. It may present with caughing constant swallowing, runny nose chronic sorethroat.
Treatment depends upon the cause. My advise wil be to see an ENT specialist for full investigations and treatment.

Hi,
It seems like postnasal drip in which excess mucus trickle down from the back of the nose and continously irritate the throat thus causing constant cough.
Stay hydrated to make mucus thinner.Drink 8-10 glasses of water /day.
Salt water gargles are useful.
Septilin losenzes are to be chewed thrice daily.
Allergens should be avoided as they increase mucus production like dust, chemical sprays and even humidity.
Neti will wash the passage and mucus but should be done under supervision of ayurveda expert.

My 17 year old daughter had a sore throat, cough and head ache last week with a low grade temp. She still is not feeling well - last night her headache seemed worse - today it was gone but she is asleep in bed and said all she wants to do is sleep the past couple days and today. I am worried, she said last week while at her dr apt that Mono was going around the school - her dr said she was probably ok because @ the time she had only felt bad for a day or two - he did a flu test on her at the time and it was negative. Should I wait and see how she feels over the next couple days or should I be worried?

my daughter (15 1/2) has had a terrible cough and sore throat. We went to urgent care and they said to wait it out. Next day coughing got worse but sore throat was better, they prescribed an inhaler. That helped for a day or so. Now her chest hurts, coughing non stop, and she gets pretty bad bloody nose once or twice a day. May take her in again, anything I should ask or know?

good day Doctors! i have a long time problem with this consistent phlegm in my throat. i assume it s something called post-nasal drip. i always have to clear my throat and my nose all the time, and always have to cough up this phlegm and spit it out because if not, it gets stuck in my throat. it also clogs my nose even i don t have colds. it s always like this everyday for me, many many times a day! i m suffering from it already, affecting the way i talk and breathe. Please advise me of an effective home remedy or of medicine to get rid of this phlegm in my throat. thank you so much! Jen

Every time I have prolonged sinus infections and thick post nasal drip I have mucus in my stool and blood in my stool. And I can t hold it- kind of like what I hear IBS patients feel. Gotta go now. It s also uncomfortable to go. How do I fix this? These things clear up after the drip stops but I live in the South and we have constant allergy problems. So I deal with this about 2-4xs a year and have been for many years now. What s wrong with me? What to do? How to fix?

Hello, I have had the following symptoms for one year:

- sore, burning throat (worse in the mornings)
- stiff neck
- tightness in throat
- mucus in the back of throat

Some days the symptoms aren't noticeable, some days it's bad. I've seen a lot about GERD or acid reflux online but I took Prilosec and an antacid for 2 wks but no relief. Could this be a food allergy? Or gluten? Or if it is acid reflux, what will fix this besides medication?
