Muscle Twitching, Cramps In Left Calf And Hamstring. Previous Injury Above Coccyx. Is Acupuncture Risky?

Hi, some years ago I fell down the stairs, taking the impact just above the coxicks. The impact was painful and I had some physio at the time because if muscle wastage in the left leg and glutes. I saw a consultant who suggested against surgery because of the risk. Some 6 years on the muscle is always twitching and the only real respite I get is after I run and stretch. There is no pain, but I often get cramps in the left calf and hamstrings, which can be embarrassing in company. As a last resort I am going to undertake some acupuncture, is this risky?

Hi,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
Acupuncture is a very good thing, if it will work.
In few cases I have tried high dosage of Vitamin E, why not you try it.
600 mg per day for at least 3-4 months would be sufficient.
One more step you can do.
Please consult an ayuvedic doctor and get in treatment simultaneously with acupuncture and I think results would be best.Good luck.
