Muscle Cramps. On Low Sodium Diet. Playing Tennis. Cause Of Cramp?

My husband and I have been on the Eat to Live 6 week Vegan very low-sodium plan for just 5 days now. We have been strictly adhering to the plan. We both are active playing competitive tennis at least 4 times per week. We both have started experiencing moderate to severe muscle cramping (calves, thighs, hands, backs and abdominals). What are we missing nutritionally or what could be the cause?

Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
Due to exertion there develops excessive sweating . Sweating develops loss of essential minerals as potassium , sodium and also others.
Loss of potassium and sodium is the principal cause of cramps ( pain ) in muscles
Other reasons are calcium and sugar ( carbohydrate ) deficiency.
In my opinion get in blood for potassium , sodium , calcium , sugar.
All these ingredients are essential for a player .
Mind it protein in balance diet is also important .
Good luck. Dr. HET
