Missed period for couple of months with white discharge. Normal in young age?

Hi. I am a 14 years old girl. For the past one and a half years i have been having periods that are sometimes few days early and sometimes few days late. But this time, i haven t had my periods for three months. I am really scared but some websites say that its normal for a girl to have irregular periods at a young age. Other websites reckon if there is a white discharge ,then it means that my menstrual cycle is good and healthy.I do have white discharge - usually just before my periods come. This time white discharge is coming but no periods. Please help....

Thank you for your query.
Normally, after menarche, the cycles are often irregular, but they should stabilize within a year or two.
This is normally when the hormonal hypothalamo - pituitary - ovarian axis stabilizes.
Periods being slightly late or slightly early is not of major concern.
However, not having periods for 3 months is definitely a reason to investigate.
Possible causes include - Extreme stress, anxiety, emotional upheavals, rapid weight gain or rapid weight loss, thyroid hormone imbalance, polycystic ovaries, endometrial lesions etc.
The white discharge before periods is normal.
You need to see a gynecologist as you have skipped your periods for 3 months.
Hope it is not a pregnancy ( if you are sexually active, that is )
Take care.
