Missed footing led to popping below thigh which is hurting. Cause and treatment?

I stepped funny and went to correct myself so I didn t fall, in doing so...I heard a loud pop on my left side ..not my hip area but lower. Now I have a lot of pain right under my left butt cheek. Difficultly letting my leg up with pain . My hip is now experiencing dull pain .. Did I pull a muscle.. No back pain .. Just inner left thigh as well to my knee and stops there.

Welcome to HCM,
It seems that due to sudden unusual movement with leg there might be having heavy strain on thigh muscles giving rise to spasm of thigh muscles giving rise to this type of pain.
Apply some ice pack on the part.
Take analgesic-muscle relaxant tablets.
