Mirena coil pain, is it normal ?

Hi I had my mirena coil fitted on monday, i had a few hours of discomfort but all has been fine after apart from a little bit of old blood . Last night I had intercourse and this morning i am having some pain near right ovary , which occassionally stabs and aches . Is this normal?

The pain near the right ovary may have been due to ovulation as this might be near your mid- cycle.Mirena coil is not likely to produce any such pain. Such lower abdomen pain may be due to pelvic infection but is not seen so early after coil insertion.
