Mirena Coil Fitted, Heavy Prolonged Bleeding, Severe Cramps, Period Pains. Treatment?
hi i had the mirena coil fitted approx 7 weeks ago I have bled for the whole time, sometimes heavy and prolonged the past week lighter at different times of the day. Some days I have stopped and 3 hrs later Im bleeding again. Is this normal? also I have had terrible cramps and period pains for the whole time. I am 48 and was suggested this for heavy prolonged periods for the past year

Its normal to have heavy periods after Mirena coil insertion in some cases,
They will become normal and less within 3 months.
Till then keep on taking iron supplements and tranexamic acid along with antispasmodic under doctor's prescription
