Get tests done, ASAP , I have had 4 people in my life pass because of smoking. It is how it starts... I don't mean to scare you, but its the cold blooded fact. 14 years of smoking can do a lot to a little lady such as yourself. I have only been smoking for 5 and every morning my chest feels like caving in, you took a LONG long risk, now u have to face the consequences....finally...no pun intended, maybe a little one.
You been smokin for 14 yrs. but you did not mention how many cigarettes / cigars etc. you smoke daily. Since you are having chest symptoms it is best that you quit smokin and consult a chest physician immediately, so that he may examine you and get the necessary tests done including a bronchoscopy if warranted, to exclude any thing serious. Whatever you do STOP SMOKING IMMEDIATELY.

I have a pain/pressure in the middle of my chest when I m breathing hard. For example, strenuous exercise, hiking at altitude, and sometimes even short jogs. I m not over weight, I don t smoke, I eat well and am somewhat active. I have wine or beer once/day, usually. I m female, 49 and a formerl marathoner and triathlete. I haven t exercised regularly though since I had my son 6.5 years ago.
Hi I have chest pains on my left side if my chest. It hurts when I sneeze or cough, occasionally when I stretch or lean back and occasionally when I takes deep breath depending on how I am positioned. I have had this pain for about a week now. The pain increases substantially when pressure is applied but I do not cough when there is pressure. Also the pain is localized to around my nipple.
So my chest hurts only when I take deep breaths on the left side only or when I laugh sneeze or cough. If I breath for 3 seconds hold it for 3 seconds and let go for 3 seconds and repeat it seems as tho I m fine unless I change the position I m breathing please help me
